Coronavirus Job Retention scheme

The Chancellor announced on Friday 20th March that they would be introducing a Coronavirus Retention Scheme for PAYE workers who are unable to work due to the Coronavirus. The Retention Scheme provides for a Government Grant up to 80% of a workers wages for three months and is generally based on averaged earnings.

For the avoidance of doubt, it is our intention and desire to support furloughed workers during this challenging time, however we need further detail from the government as to how the system will work in practice. We are members of the FCSA who represent a number of umbrella companies. They are lobbying Government on our behalf for further clarity.

This is a difficult time for us all, but we want to reassure all our Contractors, Agency Clients and end hirers that we will do our best to support you all as the situation develops.
